Galadari & Associates Gains Global Recognition in Chambers Global 2008.
Chambers Global Guide is the independent and objective guide to leading law firms and lawyers worldwide and this year sees Galadari & Associates receive exceptional recommendations from clients and peers alike to move the firm up in the rankings. It describes Galadari & Associates as ‘a regional heavy weight that has gained exposure among domestic and foreign peers for its “solid execution capability”.
The Guide recognises that a particular draw is the firm’s “superb relationships with Dubai governmental entities”, which gives it access to very specialised work connected to the development of the emirate.’ While the firm is generally better known for its debt work, it has grown on the equity side to impress in hedge funds and private equity. It is a regular presence in capital markets, handling IPOs and private placements, and is also greatly respected for its work on freezones and the structuring of major commercial city projects.’
Ziad Galadari has been given a special mention in the Guide not only as being a ‘key figure in Dubai society’ but also due to the “genuine respect and admiration” he has received from his peers and his “outstanding commercial awareness”.
Bode Wilfred also received high praise for his work in corporate and equity capital markets transactions with several of his key and most notable transactions and clients being highlighted. Working alongside Sagheer Mohammed, their peers have applauded both as being “very sound and refreshing - they get the deal done.”
Assessed on their teams legal ability, professional conduct and client service they have been singled out as “the local outfit that has shown foresight in nurturing its capital markets and investment banking group.” Due to representing and advising on some of the regions most significant and landmark transactions in the past year Sagheer, Bode and their team are no longer ranked as ‘up and coming’ but now recogniesd as key and crucial players in the Banking & Finance market.
The Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, however, deserve special recognition as they have been ranked in the 2nd tier and are now acknowledged as ‘a domestic firm that has forged a name for itself in finance and key government-related transactional work’. The Guide goes on to say that the group ‘has also risen to prominence in disputes, particularly in maritime and insurance law”. The local attorneys ensure that “the firm provides an end-to-end solution to domestic litigation”. Sources have “complete trust in this firm’s litigation abilities,” and rate the team for its “successful combination of strategy and execution.”
Stephen Ballantine ‘remains a top choice for his “stability and reliability”. Garnering praise for his “excellent mind”. However, the whole Dispute Resolution and Litigation Group should accept Chambers praise as they continue to bring together many of the regions top litigators.
