Galadari Welcomes Partner Paul Suckling to Dubai Office
Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Suckling as Partner, Head of Construction, Infrastructure and Engineering. With over 20 years of experience in the Middle East, Paul brings extensive knowledge in construction disputes, both contentious and non-contentious, and will play a key role in expanding the firm’s Construction Practice in the region.
Paul is a dual-qualified professional, initially qualifying as a quantity surveyor and working on numerous iconic projects in the UK. He later retrained as a solicitor, specializing in construction disputes. Paul has built a reputation for his work with the FIDIC suite of contracts and has been involved in high-profile arbitration cases, including most recently disputes related to landmark projects such as a AED 3 billion hotel and residential development in Dubai, and a significant AED 300 million arbitration concerning a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi.
Paul’s deep experience allows him to provide pragmatic and commercially-minded advice on construction projects, particularly in a Project Counsel role, where his dual qualifications as a quantity surveyor and solicitor enable him to offer unique insights that many of his peers cannot. His expertise extends to advising on both front-end contract drafting and back-end construction disputes, making him a trusted advisor in complex construction matters.
Paul said about joining Galadari: “I look forward to working at Galadari and expanding the firm’s Construction Practice throughout the Gulf Region during this exciting period of growth, both within the firm and internationally. Galadari’s outstanding reputation and its strategic approach make it an ideal platform to continue delivering high-quality legal services to clients in the construction and infrastructure sectors.”
Managing Partner Ahmed Galadari expressed his enthusiasm for Paul’s appointment: “Paul’s wealth of experience in construction law and his unique dual qualifications make him a valuable addition to our team. His expertise in handling large-scale and complex construction disputes will be a significant asset as we continue to expand our practice and service our clients’ needs across the region.”
Paul’s appointment further enhances Galadari’s commitment to delivering top-tier legal services in the Gulf region, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in construction law, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
